Individual Therapy at Havenwood Academy
Individual therapy, also known as psychotherapy or talk therapy, is a form of therapy in which a person works one-on-one with a licensed mental health professional to address emotional, psychological, or behavioral issues.
Havenwood Academy offers each student a weekly individual session with their therapist in addition to a weekly family therapy session. Over the course of their stay, our teens typically receive over 50+ individual therapy sessions as well as 1-2 weekly sessions of Neurofeedback.

Group Therapy at Havenwood Academy
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which one or more therapists work with a group of individuals simultaneously. It involves bringing together a group of people who are experiencing similar difficulties or challenges.
Groups can take many different forms, depending on the needs and goals of each teen. Havenwood Academy students receive 4 groups weekly; including equine, experiential, and 2 additional specialized groups of their choice.

Family Therapy at Havenwood Academy
At Havenwood Academy, we believe that every family has the potential for growth and positive change, no matter how challenging their situation may seem. We offer a safe and supportive environment for families and their difficult teenager to explore their issues, learn new communication and problem-solving skills, and build stronger relationships.
While in the program, each young woman and her family participate in weekly family therapy sessions. Since our goal from the first day in the program is family reunification, these sessions are designed to address unhealthy family dynamics and to lay the groundwork for lifelong family relationships.
